Places to visit in Poole

Poole is the large seaside conurbation that lies adjacent to Bournemouth on the Dorset coast. Famous for stunning beaches and a notorious history, Poole is a major southwest town.
One of Poole’s major attractions is the stunning beaches that lie alongside the town’s front. Although several sand-spots line the coast between Poole and Bournemouth, perhaps most famous is Sandbanks. Often referred to as ‘millionaires row’ or the ‘Chelsea of the southwest’, Sandbanks is the tiny beach resort that is renowned for stunning seaside property.
The stretch has been home to an array of famous faces over the past decade, including England captain Rio Ferdinand. However if the beach is not your thing, or it’s the stark end of winter, Poole has a number of other attractions to satisfy all visitors.
Tower-Park is a fantastically diverse theme park, which offers everything from water slides to ice-skating, as well as a host of eatery’s and drinking holes.
Failing that, and the kids are no-where to be seen, you can always head down to Poole’s famous dog-track. Opposite the football stadium this exciting venue is the perfect way to spend an evening, whilst potentially picking up a bit of spare cash.
Poole also offers the gateway to escape from British soil, with ferries leaving daily to our Gallic neighbours. Brittany is the destination for all leaving Poole harbour, ready for some time in France.
A truly stunning seaside town packed with a host of activities, it is no wonder why Poole is so popular all year round. More about Poole...
